Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation Physicians in Marin and San Francisco Named as Top Doctors

San Francisco, CA, February 22, 2012--More than 50 doctors from San Francisco and Marin affiliated with Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation (SPMF), part of the Sutter Health network, have been named on the prestigious list of [415] Top Doctors 2012 by Marin Magazine.
The list results from polling more than 4,000 doctors in San Francisco and Marin counties, and asking them to vote for the physician or physicians they considered the best in their field. All the doctors on the list were both candidates and voters in this peer-to-peer poll, and were allowed to cast as many votes as they liked, across all specialties. The only limitations were not being allowed to vote for themselves and only voting for the same doctor once.
“This is a great testimony to the breadth and depth of talent of our physicians,” said Mike Cohill, SPMF CEO. “This is particularly gratifying because these physicians are being honored by their peers, people who really know what it takes to be a great doctor. It’s great recognition for all these doctors and great news for their patients who can proudly point to the fact that their doctor is among the best around.”
When the results were tallied, approximately 600 doctors with the highest vote counts were included on the [415] Top Doctors 2012 list. Doctors from SPMF, and other Sutter Health affiliates including California Pacific Medical Center and Novato Community Hospital, comprise 243 of that 600 and specialize in everything from cardiovascular disease and neurology to kidney transplant.
