    Toni Brayer, M.D., Appointed CEO of Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation

    San Francisco, CA, July 1, 2013--Toni Brayer, M.D., FACP, has been appointed CEO of Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation (SPMF), part of the Sutter Health network, effective Aug. 1.
    Since 2010, Dr. Brayer has served as vice president and chief medical officer of Sutter Health’s West Bay Region. Dr. Brayer has practiced internal medicine in San Francisco for 25 years, first in private practice and most recently as an SPMF contracted physician. Dr. Brayer has served as chief of staff at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), and she is past-president of the San Francisco Medical Society.
    Dr. Brayer is an associate clinical professor of medicine at University of California, San Francisco, and is on the clinical faculty at CPMC where she designed an ambulatory elective for internal medicine residents.
    In her new role, Dr. Brayer will be responsible for leading the operations and strategy for SPMF, a multi-specialty group of 260 doctors offering care in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Lake and Del Norte Counties.
    Dr. Brayer will replace Michael J. Cohill who has been serving in two roles as CEO of SPMF and president of Sutter Health’s West Bay Region. Cohill will remain as president of the West Bay Region

    Dr. Brayer has been named several times on the San Francisco Business Times list of the Bay Area’s Most Influential Women in Business and on the national list of Best Doctors in America®. She received the American College of Physicians Volunteerism Award and a local Health Heroes Award from the San Francisco Business Times for her relief work in Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the earthquake in Haiti. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation.
    Dr. Brayer graduated cum laude from Arizona State University and received her medical degree from the University of Arizona.
    She is a longtime resident of Mill Valley and she is the mother of two.
