San Francisco, CA, November 2, 2010--In October, Sutter Pacific CEO Morris Flaum, MD, MBA, presented the 2010 Excellence in Research Award to neurologist Nobl Barazangi, MD, PhD, a specialist in stroke and neurocritical care. The award, which included a $25,000 grant, was for her work in expanding the critical time window for treatment of acute ischemic stroke patients. Flaum also presented Excellence in Residency Teaching Awards to endocrinologist Karen Earle, MD, for Outstanding Teaching in Internal Medicine, and to Mark Corden, MD, for Outstanding Teaching in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. A similar awards program will be held in the North Bay in December.
