Philosophy of Care
Dr. Sing is board certified in both Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Osteopathic Medicine which provides a foundation for comprehensive patient-centered primary care. She practices full-scope outpatient medicine including pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, women's health and in office procedures. Dr. Sing integrates her practice with the Osteopathic philosophy that one's health and wellness is based on body, mind, and spirit. Additionally, she recognizes that partnering with her patients to incorporate nutrition, mental and behavioral health, and an active lifestyle are integral in achieving optimal health. As part of her comprehensive individualized patient care, Dr. Sing incorporates her practice in Osteopathy as part of regular medical care and treats her patients at each visit with Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment.
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) focuses on the treating an individual's own anatomy and physiology with gentle hands-on treatment to promote health and healing. Dr. Sing will complete a full osteopathic structural examination that includes an evaluation of posture, range of motion, and fascial or muscular restrictions. After evaluating your body's own structure and function, she will use Osteopathic techniques to decrease muscular, fascial, ligamentous, and cranial strains that affect the overall function of your body. She also utilizes Osteopathy in the Cranial field and biodynamics in her treatments. OMT also has ability to influence the balance of your autonomic nervous system, lymphatic system, blood flow (arterial and venous) as well as the fluctuation of cerebrospinal fluid and she will treat these various systems depending on your body's needs and health. By promoting the regular function of your body, restoring balance, and optimizing health as a whole of body, mind and spirit, Osteopathic medicine allows your body to achieve it’s own optimal level of health. Often OMT can alleviate acute injuries or diagnoses in a couple treatments and chronic issues require more time to guide your body to healing.
