Breast Care

A woman’s breast will change throughout the course of her life, often developing non-cancerous breast conditions and in some cases, breast cancer. Sutter Pacific’s breast care services offer a range of screening and diagnostic procedures, comprehensive evaluation, and treatment for benign breast conditions and breast cancer.

Our breast care services are located in San Francisco and Santa Rosa counties. In Santa Rosa, our imaging and support services are centralized in one location. In San Francisco our breast surgeons work closely with the nearby California Pacific Medical Center Breast Health Center. Our services include:

Mammography:

• Screening mammography with computer-aided detection
• Diagnostic mammography with on site radiologists with expertise in breast imaging
• Softer Touch MammoPad Breast Cushions for a more comfortable mammogram
• Stereotactic needle biopsies

Ultrasound Services:

• Breast ultrasound
• Breast ultrasound core biopsy
• Ultrasound-guided FNA biopsy or cyst aspiration

Breast Surgery:

• Breast reconstructive surgery (flap and implant reconstruction, microvascular flaps including DIEP, TUG)
• Comprehensive evaluation of benign breast conditions (cysts, benign tumors) and breast cancer
• Pathological evaluation
• Sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary lymph node dissection
• Surgical services for the treatment of all stages of breast cancer including wire localization surgery, lumpectomy/partial mastectomy
• Specialty in skin-sparing and nipple sparing mastectomy, oncoplastic surgery
• Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration and surgical removal of non-cancerous breast lumps

If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, our facilities offer a nurse navigator who can meet with you at no cost to provide emotional cancer support, educational information and connections to community resources while respecting your feelings, needs and core values.
