Dermatology & Melanoma

The goal of medical practitioners within Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation’s Division of Dermatology is to help keep your skin, hair and nails healthy and healthy looking throughout your lifetime. Our dermatologists specialize in the care of both normal skin and the prevention and treatment of a wide range of skin conditions, including skin cancer. Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers and most skin cancers are basal cell or squamous cell cancers. These non-melanoma skin cancers are typically less threatening and are seldom fatal.
Melanoma, on the other hand, accounts for about five percent of all diagnosed skin cancers and is far more serious. If detected early, melanoma can almost always be cured, but when melanoma is not detected early it is much more likely to spread and can be fatal. The dermatologist doctors at Center for Melanoma Research and Treatment address all stages of melanoma and cutaneous lymphoma, from diagnosis of early lesions to therapy for late-stage disease.
