    Endocrinology & Diabetes

    mother with children

Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation’s Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Osteoporosis combines the expertise of endocrinologists with leading-edge research and technology. The field of endocrinology is a branch of medicine that deals with hormones and their disorders. Hormones travel in our blood stream to convey messages to various organs in the body. Hormones are made by different glands such as the thyroid, pancreas, ovaries, pituitary and adrenal. Abnormal production of hormones can lead to disease, which an endocrinologist can diagnose. For example, not having enough insulin from the pancreas can cause high blood sugar and diabetes.

Our elite team of adult and pediatric endocrinologists share extensive knowledge, practical experience and the ability to deliver the most advanced treatment options to patients with a broad range of diabetes and other endocrine disorders. For individuals managing diabetes, our team works closely with California Pacific's Center for Diabetes Services in San Francisco.
